Chase Ultimate Rewards are some of the most versatile points out there. They hold good value when used on their own in the Chase portal, but can become even more powerful when you transfer your Chase points to one of the 11 airline partners or 3 hotel partners.
Transferring your Chase points to a partner program can seem intimidating, but I promise it isn’t as hard as you think. In fact, its super easy!
Check out this YouTube video on how to transfer your Chase points, or keep reading and I will explain.
One of the most important things to keep in mind while doing this, is that it can’t be undone. Once your points leave Chase, there really isn’t any getting them back. So, make sure you follow the steps outlined and know how many points you want to transfer before you begin.
It is also important to know that you can only transfer Chase points in the Sapphire family of cards. That means if you have a Chase Sapphire Preferred or Reserve, you are good to go. If you have a Freedom or Freedom Unlimited, you wont be able to do this. If you have a Sapphire and a Freedom, you need to transfer your points from the Freedom to the Sapphire before you go any further.
PICK YOUR TRANSFER PARTNER
In this demonstration, I am going to assume you have already done your research and you know which Chase partner you want to transfer your points to (and how many points you will be transferring). If not, no worries! Go ahead and go do that now. I’ll be here when you are ready to keep going…
Ok, now that we have that we are ready to go. I will be transferring my points to Hyatt here.
Side note – I am really becoming a huge fan of the Hyatt program. I have always been a Marriott fan, but those days may be over. TBD on that.
Once you are on the Chase Ultimate Rewards home page, you need to click “Travel” from the top menu and then select “Transfer to Travel Partners”.

You will be brought to a page with all of the transfer partners listed. To choose Hyatt, you would scroll down to the Hotel Partners section and pick Hyatt. If you are transferring to another partner, you would pick that partner instead.
TRANSFER YOUR CHASE POINTS
Once you have clicked into the partner you want to transfer to, you can scroll all the way to the bottom and click on the “Transfer Points” button.

You will then be asked to confirm your name and your loyalty program number for whichever partner you have chosen.
Step 2 is to enter the amount of points you want to transfer. This MUST be done in 1,000 point increments, so you will have to round up to the nearest 1,000.

Once you click next you will go to step 3. In this step you are just reviewing what you have done and clicking “Submit”.
So, thats it?
Yep. That’s it. I told you it wasn’t hard to transfer your Chase points.
WHEN WILL YOU GET YOUR POINTS AFTER YOU TRANSFER CHASE POINTS
It is important to remember that every program is different on when you will see the points show up in your account. The Chase Ultimate Rewards site will tell you when you can expect them, but in my experience they have been almost immediate. However, just becasue that has been my experience, doesn’t mean that will always be the case.
Just something to keep in mind.
ENJOY YOUR TRIP
The last step in the process is to enjoy your trip!
